Sawdee ka, does anyone got the following experience:

1. apply for the DTV at home

2. than come to Thailand with a 60 days „Visa“ on arrival.

3. Than got the DTV via E-Mail

4. Make a visa run to Myanmar in Ranong and got the DTV stamp at re-entry?

or

5. just got the stamp for the DTV at Immigration office in Ranong (like a visa extention, instead of going abroad)

Thank you very much in advanced

Khop khun ka🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the process of applying for the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) while in Thailand, outlining options for obtaining the visa via email after entering with a 60-day visa on arrival, and contemplating the necessity of a visa run to Myanmar or getting a stamp in Ranong. Community comments emphasize that the DTV cannot be activated from within Thailand, highlighting concerns over entry history checks by the consulate during the application process.

You're not supposed to do this. Just be aware that the consulate has some resources to check your entry record to Thailand. Some people have entered Thailand during their application processing period with no problems, but there have been some reports of people being detected and having their application invalidated.

thank you. Just in case…who has been detected? And where do you get that information. Is that proved?

I saw it in this group. Someone had applied for a DTV in his home country but already had travel plan to Thailand. Didn't get approval before he left and just traveled to Thailand anyway, probably planning to do a border bounce. I actually can't find the post anymore, so maybe he deleted it, but he received an email from the embassy asking whether he was still in his home country. He didn't know how to respond, and the other commenters said you shouldn't lie to consular officers. No, it's not proven, but probably a lot of the posts here are true, even if not verifiable.

You are supposed to stay the entire time outside of Thailand while they process your visa.

OMG, wtf people are discussing activating a visa. A visa is a document to be presented to the immigration officer during the entry of a country. There is nothing to activate. Are these people real or they just dropped from an outer world.

Theoretically yes. Just wait out the few days outside of Thailand, if rejected, you’ll need the tourist visa anyway

thanks, but I think I can not stay in Myanmar for a few days. I just want to go there for a visa run. And so I asked if anybody did this before?
Ivan ************
Anonymous participant he means stay at home (or wherever you apply for the visa) for a few days. Wait a few days at step 1 before you come to Thailand in the first place.
