Do you need a return flight ticket to enter Thailand on a 30-day visa exemption?

Hello!

We will be flying to Bangkok from Turkey on april 1st, we also have our tickets back to istanbul on 20th june. We think about travellin around and do visa runs at the same time. As far as i get you can do visa runs more than 2 if you are using airway. It is limited to two times from land and see. Please correct me if i am wrong.

My question is do they really ask for a flight back while your first entering to Thailand giving you30 day visa exemption? As i mentioned our flight back is not in 30 days.

We also think about having a 60 days one entry tourist visa before coming there but still our ticket back is not in 60 days either so last thing i wish is a denied visa paper on my passport from consulate before my travel. I am not sure if we can explain them we will have a 30 days extension plus to that visa they will give.

Thank you in advance for your help

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is preparing to travel from Turkey to Bangkok and is inquiring about the requirement of a return flight ticket to obtain a 30-day visa exemption upon entry into Thailand. They express concern about flying back after 80 days and the implications of a potential denied visa application if they apply for a 60-day tourist visa before their trip.
