Hello,

I am currently in Thailand with a 15-day visa on arrival. I would like to know if it is possible to depart Thailand and visit another country, such as Malaysia , and then flight back to Thailand and obtain another 15-day visa on arrival from the airport.

Thank you . #visaonarrival

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can leave Thailand and return to obtain another 15-day visa on arrival, but ensure you return through an international airport, as land borders do not permit this. You might also want to verify if your country is on the new visa exempt list. Alternatively, you can apply for a visa extension within Thailand, although it may not grant you a long extension.

Georgia is on both lists, in this case, is VoA for 15 days applicable or 60 days?

Georgia normally has VOA. The promotion adding them to visa exempt does not remove them from the VOA list.

thanks a lot! That’s clear, but after promotion, is 60 days applicable for Georgia? Or still 15, its a bit confusing..

If you go to the Visa on Arrival desk you will be charged and get a 15 day entry stamp, if you go straight to the normal Immigration queue with no Visa on Arrival you will get a 60 day entry stamp (visa Exempt). The choice is yours ;)

during the promotion the 60 days applies. You can technically still ask for VOA but that wouldn't make much sense.

the change to visa exempt is not permanent. It's only a promotion to increase tourism. They've done many similar in the past

it has an expiration date or they would need a new law to remove it?

Yes, you can come back on another visa on arrival. VOA is only given at the international airports. (No land border).

You can also go to your immigration in Thailand and apply for an extension, but they will only give you an extension denied stamp and 7 days to leave the country. If you wish to spend more time you can apply for a 60 days tourist visa at an embassy/consulate outside Thailand.

HOW many days I should stay in different country before re-enter to get new VOA again in the airport?

There are several beautiful cities you can fly to outside Thailand as well, and personally I would at least spend a long weekend and not just returned the next day. But I don’t think it matters too much, they will understand you’re bouncing anyway.

Yes it's possible. But also check if your country has been added to the new visa exempt list that went into effect 2 days ago.
