Hi all!

I'm on a 6 month METV (multiple entry tourist visa) and I know that I can extend once each entry so it becomes 90 days per entry. My question is regarding the border runs I need to do get the next 60 (90 with extension) day stay. Do I need to do anything on said border run or literally just go into Malaysia, for example, and then come back across the border?

Thanks for the advice!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To perform a border run while on a 6-month METV in Thailand, you need to exit to a neighboring country like Malaysia and re-enter Thailand. At the border, you will go through immigration, where you will receive a stamp for leaving Thailand, then an exit stamp from the other country, and finally an entry stamp when you return to Thailand. This process grants you a new 60-day stay, which can be extended for an additional 30 days.

You go to the border, see immigration get a stamp of leaving Thailand, get a stamp of entering country, exit stamp of that country and entry stamp Thailand, this will give you a new admitted to stay period of 60 days. On your METV is a Enter before date. If you leave the day before or even on that day you still get 60 days in Thailand which as you already know can be extended with another 30 days. You can get almost 9 months of stay out of this visa.

Yes, stamp out at airport, stamp in at Penang Airport, check in, stamp out and stamp in on arrival.

Thanks, by the way, for your response!

Cool, so if I flew into Penang for example, this would all be done by just flying in and out of the country, right?
