My DTV was rejected with no explanation.

I submitted on 21st April and on 22nd it was pending approval. It got rejected on the 28th April. There was no explanation for rejection either. They never asked any supporting documents and I submitted everything I can for freelance remote DTV.

Any advice would be much appreciated. 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user's application for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) was rejected without explanation shortly after submission. They seek advice on how to proceed. Comments suggest that there may have been data entry errors or mismatches in the application, which might have led to the rejection. Users discuss possible reasons for the rejection, recommend confirming the accuracy of submitted information, and suggest reapplying with a focus on correcting any previous mistakes. Others suggest using a visa agency for assistance and highlight the importance of thorough documentation.

It is not possible to make any statement as to why any of your visa applications were rejected unless you provide more information.

Hi, my visa application got cancelled in Hanoi. This is because the was another letter in my name that appeared when I added passport picture and it synced my data but I missed this and submitted.

Would you advise to go ahead and submit documents again? I will triple check this time. Fully agree it was my fault as I submitted docs late at night…

I am still in Hanoi and I need DTV no matter what.

Appreciate your advice!

when was it cancelled?

There’s definitely nothing wrong with resubmitting your application, especially given the fact that you know exactly why your previous application was cancelled.

Anonymous participant 834 thanks a lot!

I applied again in Hanoi as indeed tickets would cost as well as accommodation and 10 days atm is quite long😣

I am hoping this time it will go good😊

Thank you again for the help!

Anonymous participant 834 I am wondering if I should got to Ho Chi Min city and submit from there. But given that comments are mixed-some say it is easier from HCMC, some say they request additional docs. So I might just apply from Hanoi again 😣

Just scared a bit!

But yes it was and error with my name

Yeah, i totally understand. The thought of being rejected twice is very concerning.

Are you applying via workation or Softpower?

Anonymous participant 834 also quick question. There are fields in “travel information “ such as intended date of arrival, flight number and accommodation. Do you think this can be just attached without proof? I can find a flight number and apartment address i had when i stayed in Bangkok back in October. Cuz they dont ask for documents to support.

I would attach all the supporting documents you can, as well as cover letter summarizing everything, highlight the 500k baht in your bank statement and type the conversion to baht, it can't hurt

If you think your application is solid and you have all the necessary documents, I think you should apply from Hanoi again.

I believe Cambodia is a little less risky, but in-saying that, it takes absolutely ages to get approved there. 10 business days in total, and that’s the bare minimum! I guess it really depends how much time you have and how much money you’re willing to risk paying. Problem with applying in Cambodia or another country is that you still have to pay for your flights there + the expense of th extra waiting time, so from financial perspective it might not make much sense.

I’ve heard Jakarta is straight forward and has a very quick turnaround time. So also worth considering..

- if it was a data mismatch issue, usually it would be a cancellation, not a rejection. Where were you when you applied and while waiting? In Hanoi? Did you check spam, etc to see if they asked for more documents?

That is a hard one. Not sure what you can do, since you have no idea why they rejected you and they most likely won’t tell you why.

definitely not true. Agents have no influence over consular officers. Agents can check your application and advise on the documents that you submit. But this can easily be done yourself with a little research

That happens because you had a data entry error, something that you entered OR that scanned in didn't match the passport and it was rejected,

DID you check every key stroke of data you entered to make sure it was all correct before you submitted the application?

He/She received a rejection. If it was a data error it would have shown as “canceled” and wouldn’t have made it past the “processing document” check stage.

most of the data error issues come from when you scanned the image of your passport and the system auto-filled the information

You need to CHECK that info carefully to make sure it is really right, for some reason that's where the errors come from

if it's data, they mention 'wrong data' or something like that, and applicant receives 'your visa is cancelled'.

If the email says ''rejected'', it's most likely that the consular doesn't like the application, not because of wrong datam
