TLDR : Answer Summary
The user experienced a cancellation of their DTV application due to a suspected typo in the passport date. Various community members provided insights, indicating that corrections may not be possible after submission, especially if it was done electronically, which forfeits the visa fee. Recommendations included checking the submission format and taking screenshots for evidence. Some shared their own experiences of similar errors leading to loss of application fees, suggesting the importance of verification before final submission.

I did this…

I filled out my application correctly and then uploaded my passport and it auto filled and I didn’t check it… my mistake. Lost 15,000 and applied again.

As many Embassies emphasize strongly, turn off auto-correction.

Mistakes in the passport data can not be altered, neighter by you or Embassy staff.

Write EXCACTLY like in the machine readable field at the bottom of the picture page.

Take a screenshot before continuing to the next page in the application, which also comes in handy, if applying gets abrupted.

Most likely, you will make a typo

TAKE SCREENSHOTS , on every part of your application to dispute these things but….but surely you can go back on the system see what issue date you entered or not.

Did you write in wrong format like DD/MM/YY?

dispute is useless, they will not accept.

As far as I know it is also impossible to look into the application once it is processed.

Just to clarify, it was your application for a DTV that was cancelled, rather than an existing DTV being cancelled

You made a mistake the fees are for the process not for the result. Do again with the correct info and pay again.

How was it? You got an email saying it's been accepted, and later another saying it's been canceled? Or is it a in person place? 🤔😭

It was after 7 days including a weekend, the process was pending document check, pending approval, then received an email saying it was cancelled due to wrong passport issue date

Ah, the it was not technically canceled, but rejected, not that it makes any difference. I'm sorry for you. There are no refunds, so you'll need to pay again. I recommend you take photos or screenshots of everything while doing it.

Unfortunately, if you made your submission electronically, you forfeit the visa fee if an error is found in your application.

Is there a way to recheck it? Because there is no way to do that on the system once submitted

- Did you enter the data first and then uploaded your passport photo page? If so, the electronic system will replace what you wrote with what it scans/reads from the image. There are many stories on here with the evisa interface incorrectly interpreting what was scanned, replace zeros with letter O, lowercase l (L) with capital I (i).
