What happens if I make a mistake on my DTV application or if additional info is needed after payment?

I’ve just submitted my application for a DTV and paid the £300. Reading it’s non refundable. If I’ve not completed it correctly or they need further info, will they contact me or do I lose the £300 and have to re-think my application process? I believe I’m ok but it just unsettled me when it says non- refundable

TLDR : Answer Summary
After submitting your DTV application and paying the £300 fee, it's natural to worry about the non-refundable aspect if you made a mistake. If there are errors in your basic information (e.g., name, passport number), your application may be immediately canceled without a refund. However, if the issue is related to missing supporting documents, the authorities will typically reach out to request additional information. It's important to address any queries they have promptly to avoid complications. Many users have noted the importance of double-checking all information and consider using an agent to prevent errors.

If you make a basic error it will be rejected with no refund If they just want more information or clarification they will request more documents

If approval is not given you will not get a refund

The reason for no refund is that it is a fee for processing your visa which is done regardless of success or not

You should await for an interview at the country where you submit DTV application

Up to date bank statement needed. Letter addressed to Thai Embassy and have remote working reference were the 2 things they asked for me. I uploaded those and within an hour or so got the visa. Just respond promptly and you'll be fine.

If they need further information or need clarification they will ask, it's no problem at all. Mine took 6 working days in UK

One mistake and its void. That's why I do everything through an agent. If they mess up its in their hands to correct it. Many people make silly mistakes and then its a no go. When its returned make sure all the details are correct!

That depends on what the issue is. If you made any mistakes on the basic information from your passport like name, passport number, place of issue etc it is an immediate application cancellation.

If you just failed to submit adequate supporting information, they will most likely contact you for additional information.

Passport "Place of issue". For my Australian passport, I always say "Australia". Even though the passport is given to me from Aus Embassy in Tokyo, but they come from Canberra.

My daughter and wife, their Thai passports are issued by The Thai Royal Consulate in Osaka, they also come from Bangkok, they always say Thailand. That is why it takes 2 weeks. My daughter has Aus passport, Tokyo, she also says "Australia" as the place of issue. Her new Thai passport was issued by The Royal Thai Consulate in Sydney (that is where she lives) and still Thailand as the place of issue. The passport came from Bangkok.
