TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses potential new restrictions on entering Thailand amid reports of the country easing travel for tourists, such as extending the visa exemption duration for more countries. Participants clarify that an ETA is a form of a visa and mention concerns about the reliability of rumors regarding new restrictions. There is also a reference to TM30 tracking for foreigners, suggesting that there might be existing systems for monitoring foreign entries.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be agents.co.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

TRUSTED TDAC LINKS:

Official Government TDAC Form: tdac.immigration.go.th
Official TDAC form by AGENTS
Official TDAC information page by AGENTS (tdac.in.th)

Do they not anyway track foreigners through the use of the TM30 form?

A lot of countries seem to be introducing these, the US and Canada already have it.

it's not. It's just information on identity, contact details, etc. Several countries use these. I've just done mine for USA. It often speeds up entry.

The article says that it is still unknown what documents will be required. Then it mentions criminal records check. Do we have to provide documentation showing we have clean records? If so, do we have to provide documentation for our home country or for Thailand, or both? How did they do it when you did yours for USA? Did they check your records in the USA or your home country?

no one knows yet. For USA esta you have to declare stuff and they can check if they suspect anything.

I think you will just have to fill in a form with name , address, birthday etc..probably an address in Thailande , maybe round trip tickets, and they should be able to check by themselves all the other stuff.

I don’t need a visa for Sin or Malaysia but I do ETA and whistle through the border, in SIN you don’t even see an immigration officer and you passport doesn’t get cluttered with stamps
