Am I in trouble due to a typo in my DTV application cover letter?

Oct 16, 2025
I recently submitted my DTV application and realized i made a typo in my cover letter and mentioned in it that have been working for the company since 2022 when it should have been 2023, am i screwed?

I have attached my work contract which specifically says my initial employment was 2023 and later contract renewal dates.

Cover letter was attached with proof of location documents and the work contract is separate.

So am i f*cked because of this typo? Everything else was perfect

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is concerned about a typo in their DTV application cover letter indicating an incorrect employment start date. Responses suggest that a typo is unlikely to cause significant issues since other supporting documents, like the work contract, confirm accurate dates. Recommendations include potentially contacting the embassy to address the error proactively.

Apart from giving an opinion ( at worst case they will ask you why the discrepancy+ ask you to correct it), why don't you just email or call the embassy ? Tell them you messed up and send them a new cover letter with the corrections. They can't fault you for trying to correct a mistake... When I submitted my documents, I had a few friendly with a lot of "kaaaaa" back and forth with the staff to provide additional info and all went well...

It's still way over a year so I don't think they'd care about your cover letter at all, don't worry

I don't think this would be a problem. A typo in the letter might be OK. A typo on the passport info is a sure rejection, tho.
