Will my end of contract affect my DTV application if I don’t have an extension in writing?

Hey folks, I'm working on getting my DTV. I'm visiting Thailand Sep 15-30, so I'm using that trip as the basis for my visa application.

I have a remote work contract that ends Sep 19. They've told me verbally that they will extend it another six months, but I don't have that in writing (yet). I've asked them for it in writing, but if it takes them a while, do you think that will be a problem for my DTV application — i.e., that the Thai authorities will worry that I'll be looking for a job inside Thailand, because my contract has ended?

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking guidance on their DTV visa application to Thailand, which is relevant to their remote work situation. They are concerned about applying without a written contract extension, as their current contract ends shortly before their visit. Comments suggest that providing a letter from the employer confirming remote work authorization can be more impactful for the DTV application than relying solely on the contract.

I’d write an open ended non binding agreement for employment and show it to your bosses , if they like you I’m sure they will agree to it.

Hm, they're pretty strict about contracts so I think that'd be a no-go, unfortunately 🙁

I had a similar issue and successfully obtained my DTV by not including the contract that had just ended, but including a letter from the head of the company stating that I was authorized to work remotely in Thailand. That was more important in the long run.
