Important to understand that we have already got full medical insurance for travel and the only reason we have to buy additional is to meet a requirement for a Thailand Pass
Hi. Thanks for your response. Quite frustrating. We were packed and ready to fly when we heard about the travel ban. We tried unsuccessfully to contact Singapore airlines to find out if our flight was canceled. Apparently their systems crashed. All airports were closed so we couldn’t even go and enquire. We then canceled the insurance. We were only advised many days later that our flight had been canceled although the plane did leave, but without passengers
and if you happen to be coming from one of those counteries then you are effectively banned. The irony is that the Omnicron virus was already established in many overseas counteries, but becuase of the stringent testing done in South Africa, it was their laborateries that correct identified it and made it public.
