In Bangkok, as Tod mentioned in another comment, extensions and 90 day reports are handled by two separate sections within the same office.
So, for me, the section that handles my extension couldn't give a hoot about what's going on with my 90-day report, and apparently can't even be bothered pointing this out to the applicant.
Not sure why I thought applying for an annual extension which requires a TM30 and proof of address would essentially count as a 90-day report which requires the exact same documentation.
