I think the Danes are still too naive to make that move, unfortunately. I don't know why anyone ever thought this was a good idea. Maybe I'm just selfish but I don't like paying 75% in combined taxes and VAT and work till 70, to pay for Spaniards having fiesta every day, siesta 50 times a year and retire when they are 65. But their plan worked. We are now mentioned as states in Europe, rather than nations. Just like United states of America. When I mentioned that was the agenda, in the 90's, I was just a tinfoil hat.
They also claimed it was a security issue. Bigger is safer. Right. Now we are all in a proxy war with Russia.
Best of luck getting out of the gang! You will be in bad standing just like UK but it will be good in the long run.
You are completely missing that Britain was a net contributor to EU, as the rest of the formerly wealthy north-western europe. Whereas the east and south are mostly net beneficiaries, year after year. EU is socialism across borders and has never been a good idea for any well developed nation, from an economical standpoint. And how much did open borders costs you in welfare to immigrants? And why would you let a french suit decide the laws in your country? EU was only a good idea for the poor.
