Here’s an update with my school. Employer is saying I can’t cancel on my own that they need to do it. So they are cancelling my work permit on March 11. I will leave thailand between March 4-6 to get either a tourist visa or a 30-day exemption stamp. They will give me a letter before I leave saying that my work permit will be cancelled on the 11th since I want to apply to another school in the future. My question is will I be fined for not cancelling my WP or visa before leaving Thailand and does this process make sense?

that may be the case but since I am trying to get another teaching job after this, I don’t want to risk getting fined or anything since I will not be on a non-b until July or August.

Thank you all so much for the advice. If you can believe this my school won’t let teachers keep our work permits. So I assume I would need my actually work permit to cancel this stuff correct?

so I do not have to go on February 28 to do all of this? I can have my work permit and extension cancelled on a date other than the day I show up to those two places?

So if I get the one year extension and then a re-entry permit, the re-entry is valid until the extension is up or until the 3 months are up?
