Go to onwardticket.com and buy a ticket from there. Only cost $16. It's an actual ticket that you can use for the form and then always buy an another actual ticket after you're approved.

Mine is saying the exact same thing and I applied August 9th. I hopefully will hear something back by the end of this week, hopefully. The website states up to 15 business days.
