@John *******
same and this is what I had to do:

1. Legalise the Document: First, send your document to the FCDO (Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office) in the UK for certification.

2. Verification at the Thai Embassy: After receiving the FCDO stamp, take the document to the Thai Embassy in London to authenticate the FCDO certification.

3. Translation:Have the document translated into Thai by an official translator.

4. Translation Verification: Return to the Thai Embassy to verify the accuracy of the Thai translation.

5. Legalisation in Thailand : Once back in Thailand, visit the Legalisation Division at the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in Bangkok to have the FCDO and Embassy stamps confirmed.

6. Submit to the Amphur: Finally, bring the legalised document to your local Amphur office and request a Khor Ror 22.

Complete all these steps before applying for a visa extension based on your Thai spouse.

The ask:thailand community, consisting of multiple Q/A groups with over 100,000 members, powers this platform. It is not an official government resource. Our members actively contribute to this resource, and while we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee its complete reliability. Assistance to travelers is provided as a community service.
