I am interested in your question and the various responses received. I have just completed the process to marry in Thailand and if you are under time pressure you might choose an agent.

It appears 2 answers for the same question have been noted. If it follows same document path as getting married in Thailand I'm happy to receive DM and give you process I completed ....I am at the Amphur in Surin Thursday to get married and they have checked all my documents OK ready in advance.

Do it yourself, research the requirements and go. We had no issues in CNX, and no rejections of documents

@John *******
the honorary consul in Phuket will point you to an acknowledged translation service

@John *******
you must ask your embassy in Bangkok for a list of acknowledged translation services, because they will have to legalize the translated documents. You cannot just choose the next best translation office.

Go get one then

You need your marriage getting acknowledged inside Thailand . . . . . How to proceed: first of all you need your marriage documents translated to Thai by a translation office which is accredited by the Royal British Embassy in Bangkok. After this you need to get the documents legalized by the Royal British Embassy in Bangkok. After this, you need everything co-legalized by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Only after this, you can get your marriage acknowledged and registered in the marriage registry in Thailand. Immigration does NOT accept foreign documents and also will NOT accept a translation without a previous legalization

@John *******
well, an agent can maybe handle the service I described, but I don't know if the different steps require your presence (when your and your wife's signature is needed)

Mil. Won't let me answer you

Married in uk .need copied to thai to apply for marriage visa

@John *******
same and this is what I had to do:

1. Legalise the Document: First, send your document to the FCDO (Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office) in the UK for certification.

2. Verification at the Thai Embassy: After receiving the FCDO stamp, take the document to the Thai Embassy in London to authenticate the FCDO certification.

3. Translation:Have the document translated into Thai by an official translator.

4. Translation Verification: Return to the Thai Embassy to verify the accuracy of the Thai translation.

5. Legalisation in Thailand : Once back in Thailand, visit the Legalisation Division at the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in Bangkok to have the FCDO and Embassy stamps confirmed.

6. Submit to the Amphur: Finally, bring the legalised document to your local Amphur office and request a Khor Ror 22.

Complete all these steps before applying for a visa extension based on your Thai spouse.

@John *******
if it's a UK marriage certificate (married to a Thai) it has to be certified through the Thai embassy in UK. No way around that.

@John *******
what exactly are you asking? To get your UK marriage certificate translated? To get your UK marriage certificate legalised? To apply for your first Non-O based on marriage or to apply for an extension of stay based on an existing Non-O?
