@Li**
I am then staying an extra month to do some diving.

In total I will be there for around 70 days so having a 60 day visa (then getting an extension from Koh Samui) would be easier than getting my extension after the 'free' 30 days then leaving Thailand to do a visa run for the sake of 10 extra days.

Hope that makes sense ☺️

Thanks for the advice I will bear that in mind,

However I have checked and double checked all my visa stipulations and for that specific point you can volunteer for less than 4weeks without needing to obtain the NI O visa.

I'm not watching the dog for 60 days as I am there to learn how to dive and visit the islands.

Didn't expand on this as it was not/is not relevant to my original post.

I am quite confident that I within all the boundaries that the Thai embassy requires and will look at getting a flight from Thailand in 60 days as it seems the best course reading everyone's advice

Many legitimate organizations get tourists to volunteer in return for accommodation in Thailand under tourist visas.

Again I am not going against any of the visa stipulations and my original post was not trying to break the law it was clarifying how so many tourists obtain 60days plus their 30days with fixed onward transport booked as logistically it is a waste of money having to book transport knowing I would be applying for an extension.

You'll also be pleased to know I am not running any businesses whilst there, the owner of the dive school

Is lucky enough too have actual employees do that for them so don't worry!

The reason I mentioned the dive center was to separate from the fact I would be staying in proper lodgings rather than with a friend (which I know you need different documentation for)

Who said anything about running a dive center 😂😂

I said she had a dive center which I am booked into staying in their accommodation.

I am also watching their dog whilst they go away feee of charge.

In what way is any of that going against visa regulations.

Best to ask rather than make presumptions

Joe once you apply for the visa you have 3months to enter Thailand before it expires.

I am considering booking a flight for 90days after I plan on entering and informing the embassy I plan on entering 30days after I actually do.

This should satisfy their need for onward transport

It also means I can get the 60 days plus extension without having to book/cancel/book onward transport

This satisfies the embassy's requirements and means I don't have to piss around

Does this make sense

Oh no sorry ☺️

Just seems to be the cheapest place to fly to if I need to purchase an onward travel ticket.

Thanks for your advice ☺️

I've already entered Vietnam and didn't have a problem.

I also won't be flying there I will just use my booking as onward travel

Once in Thailand I'll just have to cancel my reservation

It would be Koh Phagnan (if that's how you spell it ☺️)

We are staying with dog sitting for a friend (also run a dive school) - not getting any money just accommodation for a couple of months then the plan was to get the 30 days to head to the north of Thailand then Cambodia.

Hmmm I can book a flight to Vietnam for quite cheap so maybe I will do that so if worst case happens I will be able to enter

Thanks again for the info, better to be prepared ☺️

Joseph Michael Pedro III because I am in Malaysia and my next stop is Thailand, I don't want to enter for just 30 days hence I wish to go to a Thai embassy in Malaysia and apply for a 60 visa

Unsure what is unclear about my post
