What was desirable in Chiangmai many years ago: Hillside 4, The Ping

(was flooded) etc are now just parking lots.

MAYA area is a mess. Also can't live in shoebox size....we're all different.

 bought one on 03 for 800k, put 250k onto renov, sold for 1.8, in 05 so was lucky .

Don't like condo's nor push button to go home. ' I need a garden '..

Perfectly happy renting.

Not looking for investment, just living comfortably.

 Truer Thai culture than that modified to suit tourists.

It's a matter of taste. Some enjoy the sea and palms, others the mountain and jungle.

For me, it's the hilltribes, and culture.

Done both !

Know so many that have done both !

Unless married and living on village with wife's family.
