I am a resident in Chiang Mai and currently hold an O visa, which allows for a single entry. Will be taking a holiday in Lao, exiting Thailand by land near Nan, and returning at the same crossing. Which would be more convenient (time): applying for a SE stamp at Chiang Mai IMO before the trip, or when returning from Lao to the Thai border? Has anyone experienced this at land crossings? Thank you.

Any updates from Mukdahan - Savannakhet border ? Are they still open for people who has Loa visa? Is it going to be difficult to come back to Thai side after get visa at Thai consulate there??

Lao visa stamp? Just got back from a border bounce in tha li near loei i usually get a whole page stamp this time one small one which is good news if you are running out of room in you passport very friendly and in and out in 20 minutes

Just a quick question - when applying for my education visa in savanakhet do I only need my documents from the school and the application filled in? (With the visa fee) - is there anything else I need to hand in? I’m UK citizen if that changes anything.

For a Visa run to Savannakhet is the Lao entry visa good for 30 days and can one exit and then reenter Laos on that same Lao Visa a few days later?

Got a friend here from Finland on a 30-day exempt entry (with 30 day extension) who is going to do a visa run to Vientiane. His passport is expiring in under 6 months, so he acquired a new one in Bangkok and got it today.

Does he need to get the stamp transferred to the new passport at Chaengwattana before exiting? Or would he be able to exit with both passports (stamp in old one) and apply for a Lao visa + new TRV with the new one?

Just in case you have to do a new Visa in Lao. Be aware next Monday and Tuesday ( 4th and 5th of December )
