I m going to Vientiane to get my 60 day turist visa next week.

I've got my appointment

Copy of my bank account

2 id photo

copy of my passeport (+tm6 copy)

1000 bath for the visa. 

BUT , i watch some youtube video and people say that 

 we need Laos visa to come in ? 🙄

I don't know if as French i have to , the video was from US guy. 🤔

Do I need a visa for Laos ? 

If yes , how can i get one in Chiang Mai ?

The Laos visa on arrival fee for French citizens is $30. There may be an overtime fee of $1 if you go after 16:00 or on a weekend. Yes, you can buy a visa on arrival for Laos at Laos for US Citizens. You do not need a bank book, or bank statement to acquire the visa on arrival. You only need 2 passport size photos and $35USD in NEW bills.

That requirement is to enter Laos legally. This requirement has *NOTHING* to do about getting a Thai visa.

Tourist Visa, if you had previously some Tourist visas your application will be considered more carefully.

Vientiane is now, in most cases, asking for proof of funds, Book Bank with balance THB 20,000.- up OR print out from Bank account from home country value USD 700.-up.

Onward air ticket is not required.

You need a visa to enter Laos. You can either get it at the Laos embassy in Thailand, or as a visa on arrival at Friendship Bridge. I don't know how much it is for people from your country, but it usually is between $30 - $35 USD, or about 1,500THB. Convert the currency before you arrive, AND make sure they are clean, new notes.
