Hey long time travellers... Sorry if this is a dumb question, but Asia is weird sometimes.

I've got a long layover coming up in bkk. It is just from my arrival until my commuter flight home to the north. In the states I know I can just go to the counter and ask for a seat on an earlier flight (these are seldom full). Does that concept exist in Thailand?

When you apply for a non imm b visa it asks for the flight - does this mean you have to fly directly from your country to Thailand? I was hoping to have a kind of half-way break for a few days in an in-between country - is there any workaround? Thanks.

Hello, if i have a layover at Bangkok's airport for less than 12 hours, would it be possible to get transit visa free entry into the city?

Ok.. So on the advice from members of this group, I decided to book travel from BKK to BKK by way of KUL. I understand I can get off the plane, stay in the international arrival section and catch my plane back. HOWEVER, I may have goofed because I booked with two different airlines - will that make difference? Can I check-in while in the arrival check-in? Will I need a printed boarding pass?

US passport holder, multiple entry tourst visa.

(Robert before you turn-off commenting .. this is a visa related question because: A) my passport is full of Thai Visa and therefore I need a new one, and KUL is the fewest stamps to do a border bounce. B) I have other reasons that i don't recall right now)
