Departure testing for Thailand is <72 hours before boarding 1st leg. If my transit time inc. layovers is 41 hrs, does it matter?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses the COVID-19 testing requirements for travelers with long layovers when transiting to Thailand. Key points include that test results must be obtained within 72 hours before boarding the first leg of the journey, and transit travelers may face additional regulations depending on their layover duration and whether they leave the airport. Several comments clarify that the layover duration does not affect the testing requirement as long as the transit does not exceed 12 hours and the traveler remains within the airport.
good idea, do little to do. I live here so have little choice, it's the locals that suffer.

I believe it is 72 hours before the leg that checks your Thai pass etc. And of course, any transit would have to be on the same ticket in that scenario, and airside. I think different airlines have different processes as well. If your layover time is great enough, you may be required to pick up your transit ticket at the transit/transfer desk, and they may check all the paperwork then. I have no first hand knowledge of this though.

Thailand maybe 72 hours but your transit country may request less, Singapore as example is 2days for transit
. Understand when you read about the covid test what test they want . Wait a little longer and they will join most counties and just make it a covid test.
2. Phuket, Phang Nga, and Krabi - Itinerary of flights from Spain to Phuket International Airport (Travellers may transit at an airport outside Thailand before arriving at Phuket airport, with transit time no more than 12 hours and not leaving the transit area.) Domestic transit from other airports in Thailand to Phuket is not allowed.
