If my flight to Thailand has an 8hr layover in a different country (Hamad) does that count as coming from a different country even tho I'm from the US?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original question concerns whether an 8-hour layover at Hamad International Airport in Qatar affects immigration status for travelers flying to Thailand from the US. Multiple comments clarified that as long as travelers remain in the airport transit area and do not exit the airport, the layover does not count as entering another country. Thus, they are considered as coming directly from the US.
