I'm planning to apply for a DTV visa in Vientiane, Laos. I have all the documents ready. As a Korean citizen, I know the visa fee (10,000 THB) should be waived when applying online.
But I heard that in Vientiane, they don’t accept online processing and still charge 10,000 THB — even for countries that are supposed to be exempt.
I also watch some Korean YouTubers paid 10,000 THB there last year.(just after dtv visa appears)
So I’m wondering — did they pay by mistake, or does Vientiane charge everyone regardless of exemption?
For people from visa fee-exempt countries, do you think it's better to avoid applying in Vientiane?
I just submitted my DTV application in Cambodia (Phnom Penh). When it led me to the payment page before submission, the visa fee was 0 USD and I was able to submit without making a payment (well, I couldn't really make any payment more likely).
Currently my visa is under processing reviewing the documents and I also can download the receipt of 0 USD.
Has this happened to anyone else before?
I can't find any other information on the similar issue! 🥺
I got below info from the website, anyone can confirm if it's true.
Visa Rule

"Bilateral agreements between each country have to be thoroughly examined.” Chatri Anjananan, director of the Department of Consular Affairs, said after the meeting.
“We still have to study the procedures first so we cannot conclude whether it will really be cancelled.”
hello my husband is Peruvian and came for an extension to learn he can only extend 7days. Originally he was given 3 months on his first tour visa. If he flies out and comes back will he get 3 more months or just 7days?
Hello. An SETV issued in a Philippines passport came rubber-stamped with the statement "Period of stay not over 59 days according to bilateral agreement." The visa was used on Jan 31, admitted until March 31. Does the statement mean that they can't apply for a 30-day extension at immigration, or is it simply a statement clarifying the period of stay given upon entry?
