Quick question regarding the 800k when applying for in-country non-o visa (retirement).
I understand that the 800k need to come from overseas. Instead of using bank transafer due to much lower rates, could I bring in cash in my home currency, declare them at the customs and use the declaration paper as proof? TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires whether it's possible to bring cash for the 800,000 baht requirement for an in-country Non-O visa (retirement) and use a customs declaration as proof of funds. The discussion reveals that a bank statement is necessary to show that the funds were transferred from overseas and suggests that using cash may not fulfill the visa requirements effectively.

I did my transfer using Wise. You need to select the reason for transfer, 'funds for long term stay Thailand'. Bangkok Bank were happy to give me the letter confirming the funds and origin outside Thailand.
no need for the 2 months seasoning period if it's for the initial 90 day Non-O. But I agree it's not going to work as it won't show up in your bank book as being from overseas.
" A letter from the bank clearly stating that at least 800,000 baht was deposited in your account from an overseas source, and has been cleared at least 2 months prior to the date of your retirement visa application."
