Coming from Canada on a 30- day,Visa Exemption stay, can my $750.00 ( converted toThai baht before leaving) be shown in cash to the Immigration officer or is a bank statement needed;. if a bank statement, please provide detailed info. One month, 2 month, balance only, debits/credits shown?
Due to a clerical error on my part my 60 day tourist visa app. was cancelled 15 days before my scheduled flight departure, not leaving me enough time to re-apply. I'm understandably nervous about doing something wrong if I decide to go the Visa Exemption route. Thanks for all of the info provided on this site.
TLDR : Answer Summary
When arriving in Thailand on a 30-day Visa Exemption stay, you do not need to convert your Canadian currency into Thai baht prior to arrival. You should be prepared to show either cash equivalent to 20,000 Thai baht or proof of funds in a bank statement if asked by immigration. It's advisable to have your accommodation address ready and keep documentation of your departure ticket as well.
