Something else question please.

A good friend has been working for a large food distribution company in Bangkok. She has now left this company and has been offered a similar job for a different company (in the same industry) in Phuket.

Her contract with the original company states that she cannot work for a competitor for 2 years.

My question is: can anyone offer an opinion whether this is likely to be legally enforceable, or just hot air.

In Oz this would be considered an unreasonable restraint of trade and not legally enforceable, but TIT…

Hello everyone. So might be a weird question to ask today but if you can help much appreciated. I’m quitting my current school and moving on to a better one this month. The two schools are in the process of cooperating in order to transfer my over to the new school. However, during this process I have reason to suspect my current school of some foul play. It seems like they were attempting to report that I did not show up to work for 30 days already and cancel my visa and work permit on their own without my knowledge. Is this possible for them to do? I’m imagining it’s not legal but is it possible? Also is there a way I can check the current status of my visa and work permit to make sure I don’t enter overstay?

Got his nice dilemma asked by private message;

I took a job at a company inside Thailand. The company is managed by a foreigner.

After 4 months I noticed that there are problems in the company and the company does not treat me good enough.

The discussed salary is not enough for me and I decided that the tax payments should not be made out of my salary as by Thai law.

Now I want to leave this company, but part of the contract

we both signed is a one month notice before leave.

Before I started to work they made the Work Permit and I have the Non Immigrant B visa?

As this is Thailand is it okay, to just leave and go do something else?
