Hey guys,
I'll try to keep this as short as possible.
Have been teaching in Phuket for last 1.5 years. The company I work for lost the contract for the school and our new employers tried unsuccesfully to transfer our work permits to them. After the rigmarole that they put us through they told us we were on overstay as old company cancelled our work permits and they couldn't transfer them over. This affected over 50 teachers. We were all told to leave Thailand and reenter to clear the overstay. Most of us booked short return trips to KL. However, when we exited, none of us were on overstay (which was 9 days when we were informed). We all reentered Thailand on visa exempts or tourist visas. Many of us left the school/new company because of mistreatment including myself.
I reentered Thailand on visa exempt and booked a trip home to Ireland (where I am now). My plan is to return to Thailand on Jan 4th and start a new position for my old employers.
My question is, will I have any issues entering on another visa exempt? Previous entry was beginning of December.
Thanks and sorry for the long post. Also Happy New Year to the very helpful people on this group!
