Are there any people currently employed by companies outside of Thailand who have experience with the new 180-day stay visa? What is your experience been like in terms of any required payments to Thailand? Did you have to register anywhere in addition? Also, is your employer obligated to pay any extra fees or taxes to Thailand during your stay?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses experiences relating to the new 180-day stay visa for individuals employed by foreign companies in Thailand. Participants emphasize the visa's recent introduction and its similarities to tourist visas, while raising concerns about potential tax implications for employers and the obligation to register in Thailand. Notably, there are questions regarding the risk of creating taxable revenue in the country and the associated penalties for non-compliance.

Creates the same Permanent establishment doubt as LTR. The doubt is whether Thailand thinks your employer is creating taxable revenue in Thailand. They would then need to prove they are not by furnishing accounts. If not providing accounts, they risk a 5% fine on overall turnover.

This is a tourist visa, and follows the same rules.

That's FAR outside the scope of this group. You're asking questions about international tax law on a visa that's only 2 months old.
