TLDR : Answer Summary
The user asks about obtaining a long-term visa for their wife after arriving in Thailand on a 2-month tourist visa. The husband qualifies for a retirement visa due to age and funds, while the wife, being under 50, cannot get a retirement visa directly. However, it is noted that she may apply for a dependent visa once he secures his retirement extension. Comments suggest visiting immigration for accurate information and completing the husband's visa process first.

Once you get your extension of stay based on retirement she will piggy back on yours as a dependent, no need to put extra funds, but first you have to do yours. Then she can do hers. As correctly pointed out go to immigration and collect the information, if the financial aspect is taken care of the rest is just getting the correct documentation.

Non-Thai spouses below the age of 50 are not eligible for the Thai retirement visa. However, if the person is married to the retiree who holds a valid retirement visa, the spouse is eligible for the Thailand dependent visa.

Yes for you it's easy. For your wife it's not easy, she can't get a non-o visa based on you being on a non-o for retirement inside Thailand, nor do I think she can get one in any nearby country so she will need to find her own way of staying

that's what I thought when I asked the officers at one stop service center about the eligibility to change their 21-day post-employment stamp to an extension based on Thai spouse 🤣
