TLDR : Answer Summary
The consensus is that obtaining a NON-B visa without an employer is generally not possible, as it typically requires sponsorship through employment. Some suggestions mentioned involve starting a business, which entails setting up a company and hiring a minimum number of Thai employees to qualify for a work permit. However, this process can be costly and complex, with legal and financial obligations.

Set up a company with minimum 2 million baht capital, hire 4 Thai employees to qualify for a work permit, and get your Non-B visa. Before you ask about lawyers and accountants, make sure you understand the basic requirements.

set up a company and you can have a non-b, but it's fkn expensive if you just want to stay longterm

First you need to set up a company... with 4 employees. Once that has been set up you then attend the Labour Department and apply for a Work Permit.

When I say You set it up, I catually mean your accountant. You don't need a lawyer, all they do is add 20% and pass it on to an accountant.
My accountant is super busy and not taking on more work. Pick 5 accountants in your local area and see which one you trust more. I always have 4 or 5 questions I absolutely know the answer to then see if they feed me any BS that will cost me money.
