Could the Non-Immigrant O and OA visas be combined into one visa type?

Didn’t get re entry stamp before we left so now have to get another visa .we are there for 6 months every year as have a condo there.

I was going to malaysia whilst in thailand to get my second year entry on my return,but Covid happened then my flight to malaysia was cancelled then we came back to uk.

I am not in thailand now.i am in uk and was going to get another visa as mine ran out .

I have had the o a visa but people keep telling me that to have this visa again I must buy my health ins.in thailand and it must cover you for Covid 19.before this I travelled last year on my travel ins.which I buy through my bank,this was excepted but of course this was before Covid.

but you have to put 800.000 Thai baht in a Thai bank for the visa o am I correct.

A Non-Immigrant Type O visa <- the O means "other" is issued for a variety of reasons; being over 50 (retirement), marriage to a thai, raising half thai or all foreign children here, volunteering here, being married to another foreigner who is on a long stay extension etc.

A year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa can be gotten from a thai consulate in another country and while the VISA is valid for a year, your entry stamp is only good for 90 days meaning when that 90 days runs out you exit/re-enter and get a new 90 day stamp. You do that every 90 days for the validity of the visa and if you do it just before the visa expires you get a final 90 day stamp that gives you almost 15 months in country on a visa that is valid for a year.

A year-long, multi-entry Non-immigrant Type O-A visa can ONLY be gotten in the country your passport comes from BEFORE you wing your way here. It requires a police back ground check, proof of funds (that you can show by your account in your country), a medical certificate and proof of meeting the mandatory insurance (that you can show by a policy in your country)

The visa is good for a year from the date it's issued, it is unlimited entry for the year it's good for and each entry gets you stamped in for a whole new year entry stamp. Meaning IF you exited and re-entered just before the visa expired you'd get stamped in for a whole new year (giving you almost 2 years of stay out of a visa that is valid for a year)
