Will Receiving My New Passport Affect My 12 Month Non O Visa Extension?

May 29, 2020
I applied for a 12 month extension yesterday for a Non O based on marriage and now I have to go back in 30 days time to get the actual extension.

I also applied for a new UK passport 2 months ago on 10th March and then the VFS office closed. The UK gov also sent emails saying passport applications were delayed.

I applied for my 12 month visa extension using my old passport because I was concerned on 31 July I'd be told to leave the country immediately and I would not be able to get back in, so I wanted to ensure I had permission to stay.

Yesterday, I also received a message saying that the VFS will open 1st June.

My question is, if my new passport arrives back to VFS before I have to go back to immigration in 30 days time, will it make a problem for me to collect my new passport which will then cancel my old passport which I have used to apply for the extension?

TLDR : Answer Summary
User applied for a 12-month Non O visa extension based on marriage while waiting for a new passport. They are concerned whether receiving their new passport before the immigration appointment will cause issues, as they originally used their old passport for the extension application.

Where did you apply for the yearly extension? What immigration office?

Take BOTH passports (AND the letter from your consulate stating you got a new passport in country) with you when you go back after the 30 day under consideration period and they'll move the stamps to the new passport and put the year extension in it too.
