Hello,
I am currently on an extension of a Non Immigrant O-B visa, but they only gave me less than 60 days this time. I will need to change to an extension based on retirement, but when my current extension expires (23 June), the 800K will not yet be on my account for two months (it arrived on my account 7th of May). The immigration website states clearly that there is “No need to extend visa”. But I also read that things are interpreted differently in some provinces, and also that a 1 year extension needs to be extended before its actual expiry date. That would mean that I need to apply for a new visa after the 7th of July. Is it correct that I need to apply for a new visa based on retirement in my home country? Or can that be done in, for example, Vientiane? Thanks in advance, Paul (Cha-Am)
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a short extension of a Non Immigrant B visa and plans to switch to a retirement visa before their current extension expires. However, they are concerned that the required 800,000 THB funds won't be in their account for two months by that time. They seek clarification on whether they need to apply for the retirement extension in their home country or if it can be done in a neighboring country like Vientiane.
