Hi everyone,

I came on a Non O 1 yr visa with my Thai wife, due to the pandemic and when i went to the immigration office here in Satun ( South thailand ), i was told that due to covid that i cannot go out to stamp my passport thus they had to cancel this Non O and gave me a 2 month visiting wife visa. I was told to keep a bank balance of 400k but again due to some circumstance i could not do it and they moved me on the stay in Thailand due to Covid and i recently got my last extension of 60 days ending in March.

The immigration office mention i cannot apply for the 1 yr visa and this despite i have the 400 k now in bank and not moving.

Now my question is how can i do to remain in Thailand pass this time and also if i do get a job can the company apply for a visa for me knowing i am inside the country.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual originally entered Thailand on a Non-O visa based on marriage but faced complications due to COVID-19, leading to a temporary 2-month visa granted without meeting the bank balance requirement. Now, with the 60-day extension ending soon and a sufficient bank balance, they seek guidance on securing a one-year visa extension based on marriage rather than applying for a new Non-O visa. Additionally, they inquire about the feasibility of a company sponsoring them for employment while they are currently in Thailand.

Let's try and untangle this post.

1. You received a one year non-O multiple entry visa based on marriage to a Thai national. WIth this visa, you have to bounce in and out every 89 days.

2. You received a 60 day extension of stay based on visiting Thai family. You then received a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, expiring in March, 2021.

3. You are legally married, and have 400K THB seasoned in a Thai bank account for 2 months. You want a one year Non-O visa issued inside.

IF this is correct, then.

1. You should *NOT* be asking for a Non-O visa inside Thailand, but instead a one year extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai national. It *SHOULD* be possible to get this extension of stay off from an extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, from a Non-O visa based on marriage to a Thai national.

2. A non-O visa based on marriage to a Thai national is NOT employment prohibited, and you *SHOULD* get a one year extension of stay based on employment; however I know some immigration offices are more picky then others.

1.. yes, I received a 1 yr Non-O multiple entry at that time, but as I try to explain when I reach the immigration office they said they had to cancel it as I could not leave the country to get it stamp, that's what they said
