TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on whether a bank letter is required for a Non-O visa application in Thailand, specifically wondering about the duration of the letter (6 months or 12 months). Comments suggest that while proof of funds may not be needed for the Non-O visa application itself, it is required for extensions. Additionally, there are questions about the specific type of Non-O visa and local immigration office involved.

I don't think you have to show funds for non-o but you will for the extension

For a Non-O visa based on retirement, funds will have to be shown, but not seasoned.

1. What immigration office?

2. Are you getting an in-country 90 day Non-O visa or a one year extension of stay?

3. IF you are getting an extension of stay, is this for retirement, marriage, or raising half-Thai child (or for another reason)?

In Country Non - O Retirement

I’ve always had O-A before but I’ve been overseas for 2 years because of Covid so I have to start again

Assuming that immigration office issues the Non-O visa inside the country: There is no seasoning requirements to get an in-country Non-O visa, only proof that you have 800K THB in a Thai bank account transferred from overseas.
