Hi. I will be applying for DTV next week, how do I prove that I am in the UK ? I returned from Thailand in April and passport control did not stamp my passport. I think I have everything else covered 🙏 thank you in advance for your support. And anything else that can trip me up ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on how to prove their residency in the UK for a DTV application, especially since their passport was not stamped upon return from Thailand. Comments suggest various evidence forms, including utilities bills, bank statements, flight tickets, and even using a driving license. Some users mentioned the importance of showing a bank statement with a UK address, while others humorously suggested unconventional methods like holding a newspaper in front of Buckingham Palace.

I provided no evidence I was physically in UK when I applied (I was) but proof of residence with a utilities bill and bank statement with my name on it

Driving license was enough for me and bank statement, they also expect flight booked from uk to thailand but you can book one and cancel it, no need to actually be in the uk

You will find your exit stamp from Thailand in your passport, look again 🤦🏻‍♀️

Strange you should mention that. When I exited at Suvarnabhumi in 2023 a lovely IO noticed it was my birthday and she wished me a happy one! eGate exit now though.

Do you have to prove 1) just that you are in the UK or 2) That you are resident in the UK. There is another post where a UK citizen is having difficulty proving the latter as no utility bills etc

Stand in front of Buckingham palace with a newspaper showing the date. 👍😆
