Greetings. If the visa expiry date is the 1st of the month and I go to immigration on the 26th of the month, is the extension from the 1st for another 30 days or from the 26th for another 30 days. Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you apply for a visa extension before the expiry date of your current visa (which is on the 1st of the month), the extension will start from the expiry date, not from the date you apply (the 26th). Therefore, you would receive an additional 30 days starting from the 1st.

You will loose the days between the renewal date and the expiry date of your previous visa.

Robert Lagas Yep, that's what I said!
Robert *******
Steve, you register your address with TM30 within 24 hours of arrival at that address and you report that you are 90 days inside the country and confirm your address every 90 days. You don't file every 90 days the TM30 form.
Steve *******
@Robert ******
You register your address every 90 days, 90 day report.

@Robert ******
thank you

It is an Extension of Stay, the 30 days will be ADDED to your current stay. You will not loose days by going early.

The question was if I lose the days between 26 July and 1 August
Robert *******
Okay, get the papers to register the address and go with the landlord or a Power of Attorney with the tax stamps and register your address and apply after that for your Extension of Stay. Both can be done any day from today until your last day stamped in the passport.

Robert I have never registered an address. I went this morning to extend and was told to first register my address
Robert *******
Now I'm totally confused, you register an address 24 hours after arriving at that address, not just before or on the last day of permitted to stay.

I am not leaving Thailand. I went to immigration this morning. My latest stamp is 1 August. With the public holidays I have to go 26 July or 1 August on the expiry date to register my address
Louis **********
I went 4 days prior to expiry date and they counted the days from the day of issue on the new visa.
Robert *******
So you mean you went to Immigration in Patong before the last day of your Admitted to Stay date stamped in your passport and they gave you 30 days Extension of Stay counted from the date you visited Patong Immigration?
Louis **********
I talk about experience. Hapoened to me at Patong immigration.
Robert *******
You can not renew and the expiry date of the Visa is the last date you have to enter Thailand. There is no lost of days.
Robert *******
You can get depending on what kind of visa you have 30 days added to your Admitted to Stay date stamp in your passport. The expiry date of the visa is only there to let you enter Thailand before that date.
Roger *******
Was that the admitted until date or visa expiry date?

The extension will begin from when your current visa ends, so the 1st :)
