Hey everyone,

This post is for anyone that got their non-oa visa and a non-o for a spouse ideally in Chiang Mai.

Just curious what the actual process looked like to extend the non-o 90 days to match the non-oa expiry. What did you have to do, and how did it go?

If you've extended both since then what was that process like?

Did you use an agent or did it yourself?

If you used an agent would you recommend them?

Get your marriage certificate apostilled by the authorities and then approved by your local Thai embassy before you travel. Other than that it should all be pretty straightforward, visit the immigration office in Chiang Mai once you arrive ask for their specific requirements for an extension of stay as every office can vary slightly

thank you!! We already got the marriage certificate legalized by the Thai embassy here as they insisted on doing it prior to us using it for the visas.

We applied for both at the same time outside Thailand and just waiting on approval but figured it can't be too early to start working on what follows this 😊

CDN_traveller3197 you cannot get a dependent Non-O Visa until the primary Non-OA is approved and used as part of the application, expect the Non-O to be rejected unless you get lucky

Graham Seal you actually can submit both at the same time. This is according to the Thai embassy not me. They just don't process the non-o dependent visa until after the non-oa is approved. If the non-oa is declined the non-o will obviously get declined.

We asked them multiple times. Btw the Thai embassy is extremely helpful.

I have it all in writing from them.
