Can anyone who has recently renewed Non O based on retirement at ChaengWatanna Bangkok tell me if they are still asking for pictures of the applicant outside the residence. One article I read recently suggested printing a geo-located picture complete with co-ordinates.
I would appreciate information from someone with recent experience as there is as always a lot of conflicting BS online. Unfortunately it’s a 3 hour drive so I can’t just drop in and ask. Thanks in advance.
Answer summary
The inquiry is about whether recent applicants renewing a Non-O visa based on retirement at the ChaengWatanna Bangkok immigration office are still required to submit geo-located photos of their residence. Several commenters shared their experiences, noting that photo requirements might not be necessary for this type of extension, and one mentioned the relevance of having a TM30 form. There is some indication that requirements may vary or depend on specific circumstances, with suggestions that home visits by immigration officers are uncommon for this visa category.

I thought you only had to supply pictures to extend Non-O based on marriage?
But where do you live that is so far from the Bangkok immigration office?
Yes, marriage based extensions. Mine, although I am legally married to a Thai woman, 25 years, never heard of home visits. Independent Non O and extensions. My Thai wife never mentioned anywhere.
Thanks for the replies Gents. Bob, I don’t believe I used the word visa, just didn’t mention extension but thanks for the advice on the TM30. All in order.
You can’t re new a visa it’s an extension in 16 years I’ve never provided a picture however there are posts where the IO pays you a visit you said it’s a 3 hour drive do you have a TM30 for where your applying??
