Hello my question is about Transferring my Non O based on being over 50 stamp(1 year extension of stay) to new passport.. Is it easier to order from my Canadian embassy and bring to immigration in Thailand for transfer or get passport in Canada when I go back to my country (Iโ€™m thinking they will hole punch my passport and make it not useable when returning and maybe makes things easier to just do it all here in Thailand ๐Ÿค”

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can transfer your Non-O visa stamp to a new passport either in Thailand or after renewing it in Canada. If you renew your passport in Thailand, you can take both passports to the immigration office to have the stamps transferred. Alternatively, if you renew in Canada, you can show both passports at passport control when entering Thailand, and the immigration office can also move the relevant stamps then. It's important to note that if you renew at your embassy, they may make your old passport unusable, regardless of the location you choose.

Expect that your embassy will make your old passport unusable too. So there will be no difference

You can do it either way. Makes no difference at all.

Renew your passport here in Thailand, then take both passports to the immigration office where you got the extension and they'll move the relevant stamps

OR

Renew your passport when you're back in Canada, show both passports when you stamp in.

Passport control will stamp you in on the new passport and reference the extension/re-entry permit in the old one.

then take both passports to the immigration office where you got the extension and they'll move the relevant stamps
