Hello, I am a U.S. passport holder. I only have two pages left and wish to renew my passport via mail ( no longer allowed to get pages added). My concern is about my VISA... I have the Non Imm B which was used to get my work permit. Will they transfer that to my new passport? Do the restamp it? Or will they return my old passport... I am in Chiang Mai.

TLDR : Answer Summary
As a U.S. passport holder with a Non Immigrant B visa, you cannot transfer your visa to a new passport. Instead, you will need to carry both the old and the new passports when entering or exiting Thailand. If you have a Single Entry Non Immigrant B visa and want to continue your stay, you can either apply for an Extension of Stay in your new passport or get a new visa attached to your new passport. It is essential to consider which procedure to follow based on your situation regarding the visa and work permit.

I am in a similar situation. I am staying here on an extension of stay (based on a non immigrant b visa) + multiple re-entry permit and hold a work permit. I need to apply for a new extension of stay beginning of April but also would like to apply for a new passport since I will run out of pages soon (should still have enough pages left to get the new extension of stay + multiple re-entry permit stamp in if needed). What should I do first...apply for the extension of stay + re-entry permit with my old passport and then for a new passport or should i get a new passport first and the immigration stuff stamped straight into the new passport?

if I remember correctly the new extension would only be good until current expiration of passport so if you want a whole year you should get new passport first then get new extension.

No, a visa can not be transferred. IF you have the 1 year multiple entry Non Immigrant B visa, you use both passport to exit/enter Thailand every 90 days. If you have the Single Entry Non Immigrant B visa, you OR apply for an Extension of Stay which will be stamped in your new passport OR apply for a new Single Entry Non Immigrant B visa at a Thai Consulate and this wil be attached in your new passport.
