What are the implications of not having a re-entry stamp when leaving Thailand with a valid visa during an employer change?

ORIGINAL POSTERHello Everyone! A question regarding visa extension cancellation while changing employer.
If a company has mentioned in letter that last day of working is 20 August, and somebody has plan to go home country also, but current Thai Extension Visa is still valid till 2018, and work permit is valid till April 2018, which employer may cancel soon.
The question is, if flying via airport without having re-entry stamp, is it normal? Thinking if immigration officer asked why you are not having re-entry and your visa is still valid?
In case if they don't ask anything and allow to pass without re-entry stamp, then will it be ok for Thai consulate in Home country to issue a new NON-B single entry 3 month visa, considering all papers, visa request letters, (original + copy) from new employer?
Nowadays Thai consulates are also strict everywhere, worried if they started questioning, such as why you didn't cancel your visa in Bangkok, etc

IF you are on an extension of stay that you got from the thai immigration office for 1900baht you should go and cancel that extension before you fly out.

, then do what the lawyer said. The way I'm recommending is the way it should be done. Cancel your extension the day you cancel your work permit, either exit the country that day or by the 7 day get outta thailand stamp for 1900baht and then fly outKam *********

ORIGINAL POSTERThank you. You are always supportive in every matter regarding Visa. Is it possible to fly out without cancellation of extension and without having re-entry stamp? I think if it's possible then old extension will automatically get cancelled because can't use that old extension anymore to come back to Thailand. Then only way is to get new Visa from home country consulate .

If you are on an Extension Of Stay based on working, a stamp from Immigration Office you need to cancel this Extension at Immigration Office on the same day as your Work Permit gets cancelled. That day you have to leave to country or apply for new Extension Of Stay and if you do not meet the requirements you get a stamp: Extension is not approved. You have to leave the Kingdom before ../../... . This will be 7 days later.

I got no idea what that is, most people I know use the receipt of canceling their work permit and the termination papers or their contract showing they're no longer employedTod *********

ORIGINAL POSTERI went to immigration office they asked some papers which only employer can provide, like DBD not older than 6 months , tax documents , etc and I'm not sure old employer can give those documents within 2 or 3 days .

You are responsible to cancel your Extension of Stay not your Employer. It does not goes automatically. You can cancel Work Permit and Extension of Stay your self on the same day, so you do not have to wait on your Employer.
