Hi,
My fiance (Filipino) is planning to come to Thailand on a Tourist visa (60 days) and we have plan to do the marriage registration then apply for Non-O (Thai spouse) in the country but it seems like he needs to deposit the money in Thai Bank and leave it there for 2 months in order to do so. The problem is he doesn't has enough time.
The questions are
1. Is it possible for him to extend the visa by using Visiting Thai Family extension? (The marriage registration will be done during he's on his TR visa )
2. Is it possible to use the TR visa extension for 30 days first then use Visiting Thai Family extension for another 60 days?
Or is there any other options?
Thank you so much in advance.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring whether their fiancé, who is on a 60-day Tourist visa, can extend the visa to stay longer after registering their marriage in Thailand, specifically through the Visiting Thai Family extension, and if it's possible to combine this with a 30-day extension before transitioning to the Non-O visa. Answers in the comments suggest it's feasible to extend the Tourist visa and then transition to a Non-O visa without waiting two months for the bank deposit, as long as certain conditions are met.
