TLDR : Answer Summary
A user plans to visit Thailand on a 60-day TR visa, followed by applying for a Non-O immigrant visa based on marriage to a Thai national. They wonder if they can obtain a re-entry permit while holding the Non-O visa since their daughter's wedding in Australia coincides with the extension period. Responses clarify that a re-entry permit can be acquired on the O visa, but it's limited to 90 days. Suggestions also include carefully timing the trip so that the user can attend the wedding without needing the re-entry permit, or opting to extend their stay in Thailand before traveling.

Timing of your plans to accommodate you being in Thailand and in Australia for your daughter's wedding is something you need to carefully plan for...

The dates/time you want to be in Australia for the wedding is yours to decide.

You say you will enter Thailand with a Thai Tourist Visa which gives you 60 days on arrival plus One 30 day extension of stay at Thai immigration office for 1900 Thai baht.

You could apply for a 60 day family visit extension of stay, 1900 Thai baht.

Go back to Australia for the wedding... Return again with Visa Exempt Entry... 30 days stamp plus one 30 day extension of stay.

THEN apply for the Non O Visa as Married to Thai and the One year extension of stay as Married to Thai.

You have options...

REALLY don't think you need to get a reentry permit... Wait until After the wedding and return to Thailand to get the Non O and One year extension of stay.

why not just come in on the tourist visa, take the 30 day extension, go to your daughters wedding come back and THEN apply for the in country Non-O visa ?

The dates don't work. l arrive in Thailand on 6 Jan the visa ends on 5 March. O Visa would start 6 March and finish 4 June. The wedding is 10 May

get the O visa for 2000baht at the immigration office, and when you go back after the 2 week under review to get the Non-O and new 90 day stamp inked in get the re-entry permit for 1000baht ๐Ÿ™‚

an O visa is for 90 days and you CAN get a re-entry permit on it but it will be good ONLY for that 90 days and you need to be back in the country so you can apply for a year extension before that runs out or you lose everything and start the whole process over getting a new Non-O
