Does anyone know if I change from an extension to visit family to a 90 day Non O based on marriage when should the new stamp start? My current visa expires on May 5 but immigration told me that I need to apply for the Non O before the 22nd of April. I'm just wondering if I am going to lose days on my current stamp when I make the switch. They also told me I could come today to make the Non O. I didn't think to ask Immigration yesterday and it's a 1 hour drive :(

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you switch from an extension visa to a 90-day Non-O visa based on marriage, the new stamp will start from the date you apply for the Non-O visa. It's recommended to apply when you have at least 15 days left on your current stamp, as the application is under consideration for 14 days. Thus, applying earlier than the required duration may result in losing some days on your current visa.

you need at least 15 days left on your current stamp to apply for the Non-O visa in country because it goes under consideration for 14 days before you go back to get the Non-O visa and the new 90 day stamp.

The new 90 day entry stamp will be dated from the date you APPLIED for the Non-O visa so you kinda lose those days off your current stamp by applying earlier than the 15 days you need
