TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a 60-day tourist visa and is awaiting marriage documentation. They inquire about extending their visa for 30 days while waiting for marriage papers, and if they can also extend it for another 60 days by applying for a Non-O visa based on marriage. Various comments clarify that a 30-day extension is possible, but the User cannot apply for the 60-day family extension until the marriage is officially registered. They are advised to act quickly to ensure they have sufficient time to marry and apply for the Non-O visa before their current visa expires.

it all comes down to how fast you can get your sh*t together, get those documents back, get the marriage registered, get the money in the bank and then go apply for the 90 day Non-O visa and still make sure you have at least 15 days left on your stamp.

EDITED as he used the chiang mai embassy for his freedom to marry document but lives in Surin Province (sorry I mis-understood)

SO there's a very good chance you'll either have to border bounce OR after you get the marriage registered take the 60 day visit family extension.

You're getting the cart WAY before the horse because until you get that marriage registered here you're dead in the water as far as marriage visas or visit family extensions

depends if you manage to get married in time or not. You need to have 15 days left on your stay in order to apply for the Non-O visa.

good luck with it, sorry I got the location wrong, you were using C/M for the affirmation of freedom to marry document, 🙂

you only need 15 days left on your stamp at the Kap Choen Immigration office to apply for the Non-O visa in Surin.

30 day tourism extension, no problem.

But you do not qualify for the 60 day visiting Thai family extension until you're legally married. If you can get that taken care of before the 30 day extension then you should be fine applying for it as well.

you can get ONE 30 day extension on a tourist visa entry for 1900baht

In order for you to get the 60 day visit thai family extension (based on marriage to a thai) you have to REGISTER the marriage first.
