Hi guys, I have a few questions. Maybe someone here experienced this before.
I'm currently in Thailand on a 30 day visa exempt stamp from Cambodia ( my first this year, had 1 single entry tourist visa from Laos and and ED visa from Laos before this).
I calculated the dates wrong and I'm one day short before I fly out to Japan on 12.November for 10days. Means I would need to overstay one day as my 30 day visa exempt expire on 11.November
#1
Would that be a problem in reentering Thailand later on some time?
#2 I fly out from Don Muang, what's the process there if you overstayed accidentally?
#3 I will also receive a new passport from my embassy now end of this month as my pages of current one are full.
Do I need to go to Chaengwattana Immigration and transfer my 30 day visa exempt stamp or do I just need to show up at Don Muang with old and new passport when flying to Japan and they will transfer the stamps there?
Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently in Thailand on a 30-day visa exempt stamp and miscalculated their departure date, resulting in a one-day overstay. They seek advice on the implications of overstaying, the process at Don Muang Airport if they accidentally overstay, and whether they need to transfer their visa stamp to a new passport they will receive soon.
Thanks. I’m always fascinated why people plan to overstay. Or why they don’t stay 27 days like, not 30. Many Americans don’t realize the day of entry is day one, and they forget about 31 day months.
can't change it. Was a mistake on my side as I had a ED visa expiring on 14.October so I wenn du Cambodia on 11.October because of convenience. I was under the impression that they would give me 30 days starting from 14.October as that when my ED visa expires. My fault
Just take both passports....I've done this before...they won't need to transfer to your new passport. U usually get a day's grace....one day overstay is usually ok...if not u will just have to pay B500...the immigration officer will walk u over to the overstay counter and u pay. No probs...they r used to it
