What should I do if my stay in Thailand exceeds the allowed days due to misunderstanding the arrival date?

I hope someone can advise me on this. I didn't realise that the day of arrival is classed as day 1. I had calculated day 30 to be on the 23 February and my flight is booked for then, but the stamp says exit by 22nd. Will I just have to pay a fine at immigration or is it more serious than that? Thanks for any information and advice you offer me

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user mistakenly calculated their stay in Thailand, believing they had until February 23rd but learned they needed to leave by February 22nd. They ask for advice on whether they will face fines for overstaying. Community responses clarify that if the user departs as scheduled, they may only be one day overstay and Thai Immigration typically waives fines in such situations.

Thanks everyone. Seems pretty straightforward.

You're not the first one to make that error. As Thai Immigration counts the day you arrive into Thailand as DAY #1

Don't worry...as long as you depart Thailand as booked, you will be on overstay one day, but Thai Immigration Officers will waive the usual 500 Thai baht fine as you pass thru Immigration at the airport.
